Work completion speed and clear communication...

In regard to the demolition of the old Seabeds Motel, this email is to say how impressed I was with not only the speed at which the work was completed - one week - but how much I appreciated the contractor, Andrew Younger dropping by each day and letting me know what to expect the next day and what time they would start and finish. This allowed me to advise guests when first making their bookings, and to reassure them about the next days work.

During the week of this work there were some high winds, but the contractor brought his own water and dampened down as much as he could to lessen the amount of dust blowing in on us. This considerate action was very much appreciated.

Superb digger skills...

We had a bit of a water tank disaster when we discovered our concrete tank had a major leak (after getting 10,000 litres put in it). We were very lucky (at short notice) to get help from Andrew Younger with his superb digger skills to demo and remove our old tank and place in the new plastic one. He even sorted a plumber to hook it up on the same day.

Mountain bike park trail building and earthworks...

Focus Paihia have worked with Andrew Younger Contracting (AYC) on a professional basis over the past year, but there have been years prior where AYC donated materials and services to the Waitangi Mountain Bike Park (WMBP), then in its fledgling stages.

WMBP works with AYC not only in a trail building capacity but also with earthworks at the WMBP trail hub car park. Andrew Younger and his team are a pleasure to work with and are always eager and readily prepared to tackle the many challenges that this complex project presents. Flexibility is key in this vast and constantly evolving trail network. The teams combined knowledge and experience has proven to be an absolute asset for the construction of the Park.

Best course of action for required drainage remedial work...

We were fortunate Andrew was recommended to us as newbies to the area. We were impressed that he turned up when he said he would. Andrew spent a lot of time explaining to us what the best course of action he thought we should take in the remedial work to our drainage (3 areas) and levelling / bevelling our long driveway and parking area.

This advice was done without him knowing he had got the job. The estimation came in quickly and Andrew rang to reassure us this would probably be on the high side and the final account would be lower than estimated - which it was.
